Been a few years ago now, but I hunted with Indian River Outfitters out of Atlin BC.  They are right on the border of BC and Yukon.  We hunted on horses for 10 days.  You can cover some ground on horses vs. on foot.  I got a Caribou and Grizzly the first trip and a moose on the second trip.  I know they have a new owner of the company now, but some thing you could check out.  I found it was cheaper to hunt in Canada than Alaska, but maybe that has changed??

I always gravitate towards Ontario canoe tripping country.  Then if you decide not to kill a moose, you have had some good grouse hunting and great fishing and really got into beautiful back country wilderness.

I have done 4 hunts with AWGS ( Alberta Wilderness Guide Services). I have written about each hunt on pow wow. Very Trad friendly. but be prepared to wait 4 0r 5 years to get an opening as they take only a handful of hunters each year.
