I haven’t tried a lot as I’m also a trad newbie, but I really like my Safari Tuff tab. Been s hooting it since May and it just keeps feeling better!

Tabs are like most everything else in this game. There’s a million of them, and it’s just personal preference as to which is best. I am a hunter, and I like the old style of Saunders Pak-Tab. Bateman, Black Widow, Jenkins, Yost,  they all make great tabs. You just need to try a few different ones and see which you prefer.

Bisch
ditto on what Bisch said. I like the Yost Predator tab.

For 45 years I’ve used nothing but Saunders Fab tabs, with my heavy bows I’ll add an extra piece of leather. I find there great and last along time, not affected at all by moisture.

One more for Barbee and even bought a backup.  Never treated it with coconut oil probably should.

If you’re interested I will send you a tab sized piece of tanned Kudu hide from
one I shot. The best is  low off the front leg, and is where this will come from. I made a tab out of one YEARS ago and it’s still going strong today. The hair just doesn’t break down like cow hide will, the hide is reasonably thick, and very slick. You’ll have to cut in the finger hole and cut off the extra material... about 2 minutes work with some kitchen shears.

I’ve shot loads of other tabs as well: widow, pac tab, various gloves. For a commercial solution I like Bateman cordovan.
