October Prayers
« on: October 26, 2019, 07:14:04 AM »
Just sending prayers out to everyone here and to remember those who have ascended.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and this marks the 21st year that my wife has led Team Rosie on the Jones Beach Walk.  It is honor of her Mother, Rose Marie who lost her battle with cancer 21 years ago at the age of 53.  Team Rosie has logged 1,000 of miles and raised thousands of dollars to fight for the cure.
Also, October 12th marked the anniversary of the terrorist attack on the USS Cole in the Gulf of Aden.  17 sailors lost their lives that day.  Their memory lives on in the 17 stars embedded in the hallway floor where they died.  I have walked that hallway, and have seen those stars, just thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.  Their average age was just 19 when the were murdered on board.  They died defending our freedoms.  Remember them and their families who grieve their loss every day.  Heroes never die until they are forgotten.

Sorry I missed this AL...One gets seduced into thinking they'll get an email notice with new posts but that's not true for new posts...

Congrats to your bride for honoring her mother's fight and memory as she has...

Thanks to you for helping a jaded world remember those lost in terror attacks :clapper:
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
