Getting an unsecured message
« on: December 05, 2019, 02:40:38 PM »
Hey all, the little padlock icon in my browser bar is showing "unsecured" when I'm on TG...not other forums or sites. Is the security cert up to date?

this is a somewhat complicated problem in that if you have a site that's on a secure server (https: ) that has links in posts to an insecure server (http:), the pages that the links are on will error out and nothing will be seen by viewer but a page error.   as you can imagine, there are thousands of topics/posts on trad gang that have "insecure" links and those pages would error out and not be seen.  you can see our concern with putting up our bought and paid for secure server certificate.  we have been struggling with this problem ever since the conversion to the new forum software.  there may be a way around it that we'll be trialing in the coming weeks.
