Bue, the string tracking is just right for this stave. With a selfbow, generally as long as the string tracks through the handle the bow should shoot fine. I think you've done a fine job with this kinked stave.

I would bet at 15/16 " that bow is snappy ,what's it weight  13 Oz ?  Very few woods could get that narrow , I will bet there is another osage self bow in your future  :cheesy:

Not yet, I’ll see what I can do this weekend, been busy. Have an Elm bow on order that had to come first and grinding laminates. Us retired old geezers are busy all the time.  :)

Looks great, Bue. Make sure that kinky area is doing its share of the bending. You should not be after a picture perfect tiller.

As long as the string is on the handle it will shoot well. I usually leave handles wide and nocks wide to help track the string. After stringing I can shape them.

Also,  if you can postpone which are the upper and lower limbs, tuning will be better - no string slap.

Well, I finally got this one finished, turned out a nice, snappy shooter. Width at handle 15’16, lenght 67 ntn and 41 pounds at 29. I put buffalo horn tips on it.
I measured the tiller at 3 points at brace and again with the bow drawn to 17 inches, all was even. Thanks for help.
I’ll post a few pics.
