Bamboo Backed Hickory Bow
« on: April 12, 2008, 09:27:00 AM »
I have been watching Dean Torges Hunting the bamboo back bow. Dean makes some of the most beautiful bows out there. I am preparing to make a bamboo backed Hickory bow. Watching the video Dean's bow template his upper limb is 1 1/2" longer than the lower limb. I noticed he shoots split finger. I shoot 3 fingers under. Should i keep the same 1 1/2" longer or shorten the upper limb to maybe 1".
Thank you in advance
Steve

You adjust your tiller to 3 under instead of change your limb length. For split I usually end up about 1/4" positive tiller on the top limb, even tiller for three under
