Remembering Ed Scott

Ed Scott was a very unique individual. His bow making style set him apart from most other bow makers. Over the years I have owned several of Ed's bows and I still have one today.

I’ve watched this several times and have regretted not having Ed make me a bow years ago when I had the chance. I was always impressed by this man! A true craftsman in my opinion.

Ed never made two bows alike, each one was an individual artistic creation.

I think often of Ed, we became friends at the first Compton shoot I ever attended. I would always look him up and we would spend hours visiting.
I bought a bow from him and had it several years. I knew that Ed and Mike Yancey put on classes together and it was on my bucket list. So, I sold that bow and signed up to take a bow building class that would be the last that Ed would every be part of. He fell sick during the class but continued to help us build our bows. Shortly after we found out how ill he was, Ed passed later that year. I really felt a close attachment to Ed, he was a Godly man, as am I. I know I will meet him again someday and we will get to talk bows again.
One of my most prized possessions is the bow that Ed and I built together. He was one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure to know.

Had the pleasure to hunt Javelina with Ed several times. Always enjoyed sharing a camp with him and admired his bowyer skills.
