Bear recurve grip question? Kodiak hunter
« on: January 19, 2020, 10:32:25 PM »
I have a bear grizzly and bear Kodak magnum.
I never felt a Kodak hunter. What is the grip comparable to? From looks, it would be real similar to the Kodak magnum? The grizzly never felt very good to me. But the magnum fits me much better.
Looking to pick one up or a super Kodak. Trying to figure out the grip.
Thanks guys!

Hey i'm no bear expert but I previously had a grizzly. Before picking up my takedown (kodiak hunter) I called bear and asked the same question. They told me it's pretty similar to a super kodiak. I think that's pretty accurate.

I own several bears including 3 Hunters. The grip is a different one for sure. I like my Hunters as much as my other Bears. You may want to try one first as many archers have a love/ hate relationship with them.

I have both the K Hunter and the Super K, I would agree the grips are similar but the K Hunter might be a bit deeper. Slatty could you post a pic of that Kodiak Hunter Takedown I've never heard of such an animal.

Mine have what I would call almost a high wrist grip, so high I cant shoot it , hurts my old elbow .I shot and hunted with one a lot when I was younger and I still think a K Hunter has a better limb design than the SK .

The Kodiak Hunter grip is closer to the Kodiak Magnum (relatively high wrist) than it is to the Grizzly.

The Bear Take Drown (Custom Kodiak) grip is closer to the Super Kodiak Grip.  (A little lower wrist than the above, but still fairly high, IMO.

The takedown kodiak hunter is just the takedown they offer. I've seen many names for it. I think actually on the bow it says custom kodiak takedown, not kodiak hunter.
