I would like to host a couple of guys that know what they're doing that would be interested in getting some osage, pecan, or any timber you would like off of our family property. The catch? Teach me!!!! We have tons of osage and all kinds of trees that I'm not great at identifying yet. The land is 65 acres 15 miles northeast of McKinney off of 121 in Blue Ridge. About 20 acres have been kept open which all have perimeters with osage, then the lower 40 slowly slopes down into 40 acres of thick woods in the hundred year flood plain. The far back border is riparian area and whole back property line is one of the main two creeks that feeds lake lavon. Huge pecan, also lots of osage, and many thousands I'm not sure about. Anyways, I want to learn how to identify the best trees, how to split into staves, seal, where to store, all that. I'm wasting money on sub par lumber or expensive staves when I have a whole forest. I will stipulate that I'd really like it to be someone or a few guys that really know what they're doing. Once i figure it out ill host others in the future. Ill feed you, provide drinks, and send you off with a truck loaded with wood. We can split the staves. Anyone interested??? Thanks for your consideration!!!
