Finish Repair
« on: April 13, 2008, 09:30:00 PM »
I have a older Martin with a few dings in the finish.  Can I sand them down and put polyerathane over it?  Not over the whole bow, just spots where the dings are?

I was told by Larry hatfield on another forum the finish is plasticyn.  Never heard of it.

Don't see why it wouldn't work, although I have never done it that way. I usually use some 0000 steel wool on the whole bow and then a few coats of poly with the 0000 in between coats to make it nice and smooth.

Thanks Dead.  Would you recommend just spray poly?
