It has been many years since I've shot my longbow, but this quiet time has made me realize that perhaps it is time to get back out there and have some fun. I'd say I haven't drawn a longbow in about 5 years, at least!
I currently have a Centaur Longbow (Glass Model) that is 57# at 28", so around 55# at my 27"...
I can't exactly remember the arrows I ran through my bow, as I've moved a few years ago and got rid of my old equipment; Looking to order some carbon arrows...340 spine, cut to 29.75. If I run them with 225 grain field points I am at about 9.75 GPP. Does this sound in the ballpark for a good arrow out of a r/d longbow of this weight?
One more question, I have the Centaur Flemish Bowstring ($28 New on CentaurArchery.com) that has only been used for about 50-100 arrows. It is, however, five years old. Should I buy some string wax or a new string?
Thanks for the help guys, and very excited to get back to my shooting ways!
