I have a different string on every bow I own and can't tell a difference.

On all of my older Bear bows I use B50. On my Bob Lee Classic takedown, RER XR, and RER Vortex longbow I use 8190.

Ultra Cam.  I know it's not out there anymore but will use it till I run out.  8 strands, 50# bow, loops padded to 14 strands with same material.

Hey Aldo I was just going to give Ultra Cam a try. 8 strands padded to 14. Sounds good. What size serving are you using. Also do you know what the breaking strength is?

I have always used 450 plus (155# per strand) 6 strand but I am going to try a few Ultra Cam. Remember the OL Adcock of yours that blew up and almost took out my eye?! Ha! Hope you are doing well.

I use D10.  Not sure they make that anymore, but I still have enough for my needs at the moment.  I do a 10 strand string with no creeping issues on mid to upper 50 pound bows.  Loops are padded to 20.  Padding them out beyond 16 seems quieter, and makes for a more comfortable shooting experience to me, though this may seem unnecessary to others.  An 8 strand string will creep on me a bit, so I started making them with 10 strands where I found it's not going to go anywhere once shot in.  I like the halo serving, and double under the bow square for the nock to fit just right, which I'm picky about.

Best regards, Chase

I have a 1970 Shakespeare Kaibab recurve, and am wondering what BCY string you would recommend.
