New bow for the wife

Recommendations for a longbow for my wife?
Little back story... It's been several years ago but my wife and I use to shoot competition compound. I personally also had a longbow and recurve I played around with some and shot at tournaments occasionally. I also had a Victory 17lb recurve for my son when he was little. A couple weeks ago my wife expressed interest in wanting to shoot again and wanted to shoot my son's recurve. She has fallen in love with shooting again and has been out about every day with it. She's now wanting something with a little more poundage and something a little higher quality. We are going down tomorrow to a local archery shop to look around and get kind of an idea of the poundage that she is wanting. She is leaning toward a reflex/deflex longbow similar to mine but hasn't ruled out a recurve. She really likes the beauty of the different wood grain.
So, my question is, could any of you guys suggest a brand or bowyer that you would recommend for a new bow for her? We would like to keep it around 4-600 dollars if possible.
I know there may be several options but I would love to hear your input so that I could check them out.
Thank you!

You're in luck,,,,,, lots of great traditional archers in Arkansas and lots of good meet ups close by in Mississippi, Louisiana, East Texas. Find some local bow makers then take her over and let her shoot till she finds something thats right for her.
There are lots of great bow makers for a reason, everyone shooting is seeing and feeling it a little bit different,,,,,,,, find the sweet spot. Best of luck to you both,,,

Always heard good things about Maddog traditional bows. Give Mike a call. Good luck.

St. Joe River is a sponsor here and have a fine reputation. Here’s one they have in stock in your price range
They also have a try before you buy program, so you only risk shipping cost and you get the comfort of shooting at your own home with no pressure

Maddog would be a good choice, we have a 62inch Prairie Pretator it's 36lbs at 28inches. It's nice quality bow at very good price. I shoot it some every year and keep it around for my teenage son for when he wants to shoot or any other person who might what to give a longbow a try. I would suggest getting a bow for your spouse that is a draw weight choice at
her draw length.
No use having extra draw length if your not getting full performance out of the bow.

I would go with a Black Hunter with recurve and LB limbs. Great price and they shoot as good as any even custom. Unless she wants one that's personal with her wood choices.

I have a new Primal Tech 3 piece longbow that is terrific looking and shoots quiet and fast. Check out some of his on his facebook site. Mine is 62" and 41@28 It really zips an arrow!

My shortest bow is a Javaman triple carbon elk heart. It is 56” and 43@28. It’s a really nice shooting bow. This particular bow is out of your price range because it has a black and white ebony riser and triple carbon limbs.
But if you bought a standard model, I think it would be affordable for you.
I normally shoot 50-55lb bows, and bought this bow for strengthening my injured shoulder. When my shoulder improved I thought about selling it, But the cast is really good so i think I’ll probably keep it.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I think she has decided on a Toelke Chinook. Little more than I initially wanted to spend but a happy wife...ECT...ECT.. and she said she would get me a Whip if she could have it.

I’d call Tracy at St. Joe River Bows or Mike at Mad Dog. They have always done well with my wife!

I'm afraid I couldn't trade my wife in. After 25 years I truly believe that she is the only one that could put up with me. Lol
