The same thing happened to me with my climber. Lower tip just glanced off the climber because the buck was actually too close !
6 yards from the bottom of the tree .... only my arrow never found it's mark.
Shot under him by this >< much.....sigh.

Great read and memory, Curt.
I did the lower limb thump, too.. with a wheeled-bow ,bounced right off the inside of my knee, I shoulda shot one step sooner....buck looked at my red, non-screaming face;snorted and strolled away....won't be doing THAT again, I hope!
