Stalker or Striker
« on: July 25, 2020, 08:45:28 AM »
Thoughts on these two bows?  I am interested in either a Stalker Jackal longbow or a Striker Fastback longbow.  I have had the chance to shoot a Striker at ETAR in the past.  I really like the Jackal riser and the fact that South will build with carbon, which I am used to.  Appreciate any feedback from some owners of these bows.  Thank you.

Give South a call, maybe he has one to send you in stock that you can try. Sorry,  haven't shot either one,  both have good reviews on them.  Good luck!
Also,  if you haven't already,  check out South's hunting vids on utube,  he made some good ones.

South built me a Jackal Longbow with An extra set of static limbs. Excellent craftsmanship, great shooter. Cant go wrong with Stalker.

Two different types of bows.  Fast back is physically very light has a narrower grip. Stalker more mass weight.  Closer to a three piece recurve.  Both are nice bows. I doubt you will see much difference in performance if any.  Both have pretty quick turn around times.

Michael, very nice risers, thank you for sharing.  Now I think I just need to figure a limb wood that will go with a Olive wood riser.

Can someone share some diameter measurements of the riser grip on the Jackal?

I bought a Stalker Coyote back in 2012. I had never shot one before but ordered it because they looked AWESOME it has been my go to ever since! For me It was easy to tune and dang near shoots its self. I have shot a lot of deer with it. I have shot a Striker and they are nice shooters but I have never owned one. I'm a Stalker fan and South is top notch

Had the pleasure of shooting my buddy Carcajou's Jackal longbow recently.
Can say it shoots as good as it looks

I have not shot a stalker but have a Striker.... man if I could  want a recurve... the Stalker would be it.

I have shoot both and both are good feeling bows. For me if I was choosing between the 2 I would choose the Stalker because the riser shape, sight window, and grip just fit my eye better.

I wonder how many have shot both extensively that posted here, I bet most have not.  So, those that haven't are not truly giving an honestly opinion....  The original poster should ask them  if he wants a real evaluated answer eventhoug he already did.:saywhat:

I have and I hunt with Striker
