Another Nessmuk...Finished with Sheep Horn
« on: August 20, 2020, 03:16:51 PM »
I liked my larger 10 inch Nessmuk so much that I decided to forge a smaller one as a working belt knife. 8 & 1/2 inch Nessmuk from 5160 carbon steel, blade is thin & sharp, and tang is drilled for a handle of either split antler or some nice wood.  Only thing difference from an original Nessmuk is the indent to protect your finger from the sharp blade.

Oops, my pictures got all messed up...

This is the finished Sheep Horn Nessmuk. I love doing knives in sheep horn...but this sheep horn is special. I've had it foe at least 10 years waiting for the perfect knife with a wider handle to show it off.  The horn ridges are so symmetrical and uniform...tippit

Hey jeff, I didn't realize your family hails from WI. Stanley is 45 minutes west of me. I have a bear over there right now.

Your knife is incredible. I  like all your knives but this one seems to stand out.
Relax,
