Fighting the ILF Bug
« on: September 11, 2020, 05:46:41 PM »
I personally enjoy shooting my one piece recurves, something about a one piece simple recurve bow has always attracted me and has been my go to for many years. But my dang ILF Longbow is stealing the show. I have yet to shoot a bow as quiet and consistently accurate as that metal riser, bamboo longbow limbs. Best part is, it didn't empty the bank account and left me over some cash to pick up some Asbell wool and bunch of broadheads with pennies left over.

Sounds like nothing to fight there.  If the arrows are hitting the mark, the bow is quiet as you please, sounds like you know in your heart of hearts, that's the bow to take hunting in the autumn leaves..........

The only problem if you don't fight it, is that more and more ilf risers and limbs seem to find their way into your stable.

I got a riser from Timberhawk, and really like it. I got some limbs from Dryad. 3Rivers has some nice ones for pretty cheap.

I think at least for me I'm going to try and really like this riser and try a number of different limbs.

Come back to the light.  Solid piece of wood makes a great bow.

I’m kind of the opposite.  I have 2 ILF bows I’m trying to get set up.  A VPA Vapor Riser and a Sky Archery riser.  I have a set of Centaur longbow limbs for each and I have a set of recurve limbs that I use on the Sky riser.  Lately, I’ve been wanting a one-piece  recurve or two.  I’ve wanted a Bear for a while, but not sure what one-piece I should get.

I'll tell you that my shooting has improved dramatically with an ILF rig that I'm selling most of my wood bows. The consistency is very noticeable and I love the ability to alter the configuration so easily. Tuning is a breeze as well.

Like Jeff said, I have a VPA riser and Centaur limbs.  Bow is quick, quiet and arrows go where I look.  Great set up.  Finding Centaur limbs is not easy.  Anyone know of a set of Xtra longs I am in the market.

I've kinda gotten hooked too. You have so much latitude with them.
