Heavy inserts for aluminum?

Does anyone know of a source for heavy point inserts for aluminum arrows?
I need to add some weight to the front of some XX75 2219s but don't want to change broadheads.

I haven't tried this myself but I've read about others doing it. The ID of a 2219 is .306 so a lot of standard diameter carbons with .300 OD can be used as an internal footer. 2 inches of carbon would be ~18 grains plus whatever standard diameter insert you want to use with it. Lots of options for customizing weight there.

I looked on the TopHat website but they don’t have inserts in that size for aluminums. I have read where some folks have drilled out the back end of the insert and threaded it 8/32 and used brass screw rod to add weight.
 Not a lot of options for aluminums it seems. Another idea, maybe far fetched but instead of a piece of carbon shaft how about a piece of brass tubing? I know they sell that stuff at the hobby stores and the big box home stores.

Play with some screw in heavy points first to see what you can get away with.  In my experience tuning aluminum much past 175 to 200 grains was difficult.  Carbon and wood on the other hand take to heavy points very well.

You can insert an aluminum OD 19(1918, 1916..) into a 2219.

They have them for the 300/340 GG shafts (2315,2317). They should be less than .320 in diameter, would be pretty easy to thin .020 of of them, screw a field poit in and chuck in a drill and fille them to fit.

Use a tap to continue the threads through the insert and then use correct thread machine screw with the head cut off to add weight hot melted on the back of the insert.  Brass screws are heavier

What broadheads are you using ? Do they have a glue in adapter ? If so, try a steel adapter in 75 or 100 grain. At one time,  I had some old 2219 inserts that were threaded at the bottom for carbon type of weighting

A couple of the Snufers seem to have the inserts epoxied in place, so no go with them.  However I found these.

With the 100 grain Snuffers, this should give me what I need.
I like the idea of using a 1916 aluminum inside sleeve as well
Hopefully the limbs will arrive next week so I can find out.

I have inserted a 3"Beman MFX into a 2018, then use the HIT carbon insert. Works great...strong.

I have tapped the 8/32 thread on the insert all the way through and use PDF weight system.  I have quite a few if interested let me know.

Do you know anyone that is a Machinist or a Tool Maker?
A few years ago I needed more weight up front and I made solid aluminum broadhead adapters for my 2216 arrows.
Worked great and if I remember correctly, I picked up about 80gr. more weight.

Hot melt glue a 308 Winchester or 3006 bullet behind the insert while you install the insert

They come in a variety of weights and are cheap ( got a buddy that reloads? )
