New bow for my grandson (Better pictures)
« on: April 19, 2008, 11:17:00 PM »
I used my camera at work to get some better pictures. My camera at home must be going bad as it sure didn't give good color rendition.
Finishing this up. Still have to sand down and add finish a few more times. Haven't checked the weight but shooting for 40+ lbs at 28". Its 58" ntn .040 glass, fiddleback maple veneer, actionboo taper, Yellowheart parallel, actionboo parallel, .040 glass.
The riser is fiddleback maple with a rosewood flair. Thinking about adding a strip of hair on cape buffalo hide to the back of the riser.

Frank here's a picture showing how I attach the limbs. I have been so busy with work and typical family stuff I haven't had much time to do much with bows. Sure felt good to make some saw dust.
BTW Happy Birthday.

Frank I have to make some plugs out of deer horn to cover the bolt holes. They won't look like the neat stuff you do though.
