Unknown wood

Can anyone help me to id these woods. I found them at work and I have never seen them before. The red one is heavy and rings when I strike it. It’s definitely tropical and it might be from India since we get a lot of castings from there.
The brown one is a total mystery. It’s somewhat hard but it saws really easily and it’s growth rings are wide. It reminds me of a eucalypse.

The bottom looks like some dark Myrtle. Not sure about the top.

My guess is Eukalyptus on the one with the wavy grain. I have a large Eukalyptus board that looks the same, except mine has a bit lighter color.

From here they look like two varieties of Atrocious Importus.

Atrocious Importus. That’s the best one I’ve heard in a while. 😁
 I’m inclined to go with Bue on the red one. I went through the wood database and that’s the closest I could find.
I never thought of myrtle. The dark one sure looks like it.
I’m going to turn both pieces into grunt calls. The dark one should look nice.

I started turning the dark piece and it sure is looking good. It turns easily and polishes up nice. It has a bit of an odd smell though.
I’ll see if I can finish it up tomorrow and I’ll post a picture.

Myrtle smells like sour buttered pop corn to me if thats what it is.

Here it is. It’s a nice piece of wood and the best part is that I have enough left for another call. 😁
And it sounds good too.

That looks nice Dave! Hard to tell what color the wood is? In the first pic, it kind of looks dark green and charcoal. I've never seen Myrtle that look like that. Is it spalted?

The light is a bit yellow in the second picture. It still has that greenish tinge. I really like the flame shaped light streak. There’s another one on the other side.
There’s no spalting in it. As a call, it has a nice mellow sound. Each wood has it’s own tone.
When the rain ends and things dry out, I’ll put some tru oil on it. It should really pop.
