Anyone shooting a Sky Archery metal ILF riser?
« on: October 27, 2020, 02:48:06 PM »
I have a metal Sky archery ILF riser that is giving me fits.  The shelf is flat with a slight hump to get the arrow up off the flat shelf.  I'm shooting a fixed crawl, so my nocking point is kind of high.  When I have the nock point up where it needs to be, the arrow touches the front of the shelf.  When I move it down, the arrow bounces off the back of the shelf and the fletch digs into my hand.  I have not been able to find a sweet spot.  I think I'm doomed to putting an elevated rest on it, but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas first.  Thanks.

50# @28".  400 spine with 175 grain tips.  Shoots fine out of my similarly pounded Black Widow.  When I say it touches the front of the shelf, I mean it is literally at rest touching the shelf on the front.  It's not just touching the hump.  The shelf isn't really conducive to shooting a fixed crawl with a high nocking point.  I'll have to take a photo and post it if I can.

I wouldn't be worried about the arrow position at rest - what does it look like at full draw? The nock high angle will be significantly less - and the arrow will likely be up on the shelf "hump"

I shoot a satori with a fixed crawl and a high (near 1") nock height.
