850 pull up rope less tangles
« on: October 25, 2020, 07:01:13 PM »
I was tired of my 550 paradord pull up ropes being tangled all the time. So for this year I ordered 850 paradord thinking maybe it is less likely to tangle. And yes it does have less tangles. A definite improvement. Just FYI.
I use plastic carabiners on each end for clip clip climb. The plastic carabiners aren't great quality but they are cheap.

Good info on the rope, but I like loops instead of carabiners. One less think to snap, clack or make any kind of noise.

All of my pull-up ropes are curtain rod cord. I fasten one to each stand wrapped around a plastic boat  cleat screwed for my stand. I never have to worry about a rope. I make a loop in the end and slip it over the tip of my longbow.

After reading this found a old pull rope that is braided nylon but not paracord with rubber coated carabiners on either end that will probably go in my Lost River.  Black cord with orange flecks non-reflective.  Good 25' plus piece of rope.

Tiny climbing rope works well, or the tie down rope for camping like 3mm I think anyway yeah less tangles. But it’s just better to wrap around something to prevent them no matter what you use.

my tangle free setup is a small retractable dog leash secured to my belt with a carabiner. climb, pull the rope, self retracts. no tangles. works great.
