Grizzley stick spine?
«
on:

got some Grizz sticks this weekend from a friend. I got half dozen alaskans and a half dozen sitkas. Would love to know the spine of both the arrows. Actually would like to know the spine of the safaris as well if anyone knows.
thanks,

Ed's site gives general guidelines for the shafts as related to bow poundage, do not know the spine deflection.
Give us the bow, weight, draw length, total point weight and some may be able to help out as to were to start.

Ok, two different bows, both longbows, one 55#28", the other 60#@28", draw is about 31", so approx 63# on the one and about 69# on the other. Point weight, you tell me. I usually like a high foc with carbons, but I dont know much about the grizz sticks.
thanks guys

Sitkas will be to light in spine. My ACSCX 59# won't shoot a 28" sitka with 85 gr point, shows way weak.
Follow Ed's instructions for building the arrow, pay attention to the seam. Pick your point weight and start trimming from the BACK as you bare shaft the Alaskans, Grizzlysticks fly well with high foc.

Hey Katman,
Are the alaskans different than the sitkas? I was told to trim the Grizzsticks from the Front.

Original Griz Alaskan topped out around 80# spine if memory serves and the Safari went up from there.
Sitkas were introduced later for lighter weight bows thus ergo, lighter spine but their #s elude me.

Sitkas are lighter in spine and weight, only trim from the FRONT, typo on my part. sorry.
Copied from Ed's site: The Sitka is the latest addition to the GrizzlyStik arrow shaft line and is designed to fill the demand of bowhunters who shoot lighter draw weight bows but still want a moderately heavy arrow.with its wide static spine deflection, they shoot like darts out of 40# to 55#+ bows.Finished Sitka arrows weigh in at approximately 430 to 530+ grains including 125 to 155+ grain heads.
The Alaskan, because of its wide spine range and heavy weight, is the most popular shaft of the GrizzlyStik line. With a static spine designed for 50#-80# + bows, the Alaskan shaft makes up a finished arrow weighting between 550 and 650+ grains including a 125 to 250+ grain head. This makes it just right for most moderate draw weight bows and virtually any game animal from whitetails to kudu.Finished Alaskan arrows weigh in at approximately 550 and 650+ grains including a 125 to 250+ grain head.
