Shoulder surgery
« on: December 06, 2020, 01:40:48 PM »
Guys I wanna say something not to the guys that had shoulder surgery but those who are considering. When my daughter was 1 year old. She’s 18 now I had pretty bad shoulders. The better one had bony tumors, bone spurs, bony cysts, arthritis, tendonitis. brucitis, fluid in my shoulder, the bicep tendon grossly attached as well as rotator cuff tears. My bad shoulder had the long bicep head blow off. The Dr said I HAD to have surgery. Also said if I didn’t quit lifting my shoulder would become frozen.
At night my shoulders were so painful they toothache type pain throbbed.
Hard to sleep but I’ve got a pretty hard head. Was able to just tell myself it didn’t hurt n sleep. I couldn’t pick my daughter up or raise past level.
Anyhow I never once missed lifting nor shooting. Never missed a season either. Yes I had to go easy but I took the rehab route against my Drs suggestions. Remember a surgeon always wants to do surgery. He wants to make money and you’re a money maker for him.
My shoulders never froze and bother me none at all to extreme mildly. I still work out hard every day. Just because surgery is suggested would a legimate try at rehabbing it kill you? Here’s the part of me that might seem insensitive. I have a high pain tolerance but I feel it like others. I don’t brood on it and just go on. Others often get in their head it’s unbearable. It pretty much never is and if so endorphins kick in to help you. Think about trying to suck it up and do it yourself instead of letting some guy cut you. Life isn’t supposed to be completely easy and we aren’t supposed to just give our problems to someone else. Do what you have to do. Set your mind it doesn’t hurt and move on.
Something I want to say bout rehab. You work the body part right? As a kid I powerlifted. Today I still lift heavier than most. Been around a gym over 40 years so take what I’m saying as honest experience. The rehab imo brings fresh blood of sorts into the injured area. Seems to anyhow. Exercises that will pump the muscle seem to bring true relief. You’ll almost instantly feel better w no pain meds either. Stay off that junk. Many people develop probs from them. Hope this gives you all something to consider and I
Hope that came out the way I am meaning
