Toelke whistler grip
« on: December 13, 2020, 02:25:53 PM »
Thinking of ordering a new 60" toelke Whistler this week, has anybody ever had one made with a whip grip on it? I have three Toelke whips right now and I really like the grips.

Not sure what you refer to as a Whip grip, which I believe comes with a standard (high) grip or the classic (low grip).    I've had a Whip (62", 52#) with the standard grip for several years, and like it very much.  This spring I had some Donald dollars burning a hole in my pocket and ordered a lighter Whistler (60", 48#), also with the standard grip, which is the same as that on the Whip, at least on my bow.  Talk to Dan about what you want- I suspect he will give you what you want.

There should be very little difference between the two, though the Whistler riser has a little more deflex to it and maybe a tiny bit more mass. Dan will customize it for you. I doubt youd feel much difference blindfolded.

Spoke with Dan today and ordered a 60" Whistler with quilted maple veneers and with a standard low grip like the one thats on my whip. Should be ready in February.

Big difference between my Pika and older Whip grips.  I believe the newer Whips have a bit more higher wrist dimensions like the Pikas and Whistlers.  I really like the Pika grip, but using a bit different hold i also like the Whip.  As said, I'm sure Dan will craft the grip to your liking.
Toelkes are the best bows on the planet.
