Stalker Stickbows

Been looking at them for awhile. I don't see them discussed on here too much. I was just wondering what people's opinions are on these bows, particularly longbows. I was planning on "test driving" one or two of them but I was hoping to get some opinions first. Thanks.

Have personally owned many of the hi end bows over the years.
South’s bows are easily among the elite for quality, performance and shootability as well as eliciting a wonderful shooting experience. A bow that I can count on with the upmost confidence either hunting at home or abroad.
A try before you buy option experience supersedes my brief summary as actual bow assessments may be quite individualistic.

I have two Stalker recurves. A Coyote and a Wolverine. The fit and finish on both is excellent. I really like the static tip Coyote. It has a really smooth draw cycle and balances great in the hand. It also shoots a heavy arrow fast. If you can get your hands on one, shoot it and decide for yourself.

I bought a coyote this past summer. Initially, I was very impressed. Mostly by the grip. After a while, though, I felt like it didnt compare to my widows. So, I had a psa built but had widow copy the stalker grip. Best of both worlds.

I own a Wolverine static and I really like the bow quiet fast and accurate. As other have said South makes a great grip and has a great taste for the woods

Several years back we had one as a pass around bow on TG, it was a fine shooter. I hunted and shot a turkey with it and shot it at the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington spring shoot in Moses Lake. Great bow ... you might try and find that topic in Pow Wow archives.
Good luck

I have a Coyote in the Longbow configuration on order. I will order a set of static limbs for it down the road.

Stalker’s are great bows. Had a coyote with the static tips. Very light actual weight of the bow so a quiver balanced it nicely. Can’t say a bad thing about it it shot great and was easy to tune. It liked a heavier arrow.

I bought a Jackyl last year from a fellow TG’Er with 54” static Recurve limbs and I liked it so much I bought a set of Longbow limbs for it as well. Great shooting bow.

I have quite a few bows and my Stalker Stickbows are my favorites. They are fast, quiet and South stands behind his gear. I recommend them when asked my preference.

I bought a Stalker Jackyal from Scott Dillon last year. It is a 54" and 47# @ 27" with Bocote and Zebrawood. I loved it so much, I had a matching set of Longbow limbs 60" and 45# @ 28". Love it.

On my second Coyote FXT if thats an idication.
First was bought through RMS and was actually spotteddogs old bow from here, I had South make a set of LB limbs for it, but sold that setup off.
Second FXT is just a smooth draw wise and was easy to tune as the first. South builds a Bow with some soul to them, his work and attention to detail are up at the top with others.
Stalkers are definately worth a try, both for dealing with South and the Bows themselves.
