Anyone have a Great Plains recurve

Looking for some honest reviews on a Great Plains Recurve.  I have a friend that is interested in one.

I recently traded for a GP B model one piece that I really like. I've had them in the past as well but have declined in draw weight and this one fits me well now. I like the forward riser of the B model-kinda like the ptf from Widow. I have a friend who has GP bows as his go to bows exclusively. I draw 29.5" and don't feel stack but if longer than that I suspect finger pinch would be a factor.

I had a Kiowa that was named "bad penny".  I traded her away three times!  She kept coming back in trade.  Good heavy weight bow that was decent hunting length for Texas brush.  That was relatively early in my walk and the recurve days.  She was very agreeable just had too many similar weight bows and was leaning towards longbow.  GP is a good bow.

Don’t have one right now, but have had several and shot several others! Usually I find them very quick for any given weight, great grip and very good fit and finish!! I would buy or trade for one anytime!!

I've got an original one piece recurve , "cazador" model with yew limbs.
This bow is 60" and is a pleasure to shoot at #55  .
Great hunting bow, speed and very quiet .

I had a 60" 55# Kiowa a bout 10 years ago.   I liked the bow but it seemed to me the limbs preloaded the draw weight and it felt more like a 58# bow, which was a bit more than I liked.  I would not mind having another but would aim for a listed draw weight 3 pounds less than I actually wanted.

My Kiowa was 65# and felt more like 70, as well.  Good smooth, quiet, hard hitting bow.

I had a Great Plains takedown that was the best shooting bow that I ever had. That was 20 some years ago  but I'm sure their bows haven't changed that much. For some reason I got rid of it. I guess I was looking for better when I already had all that I needed. The grip on them is great.

I have a Wichita. Very smooth shooting bow and great quality.

I had a Rio Bravo 20 some years ago and was 59# .I loved the bow but way too much weight for me so I traded it .Then I had a Custom B Model take down with Hondorus rosewood and maple riser and it was 50 # and a really smooth pulling bow that I shot pretty well.
  I got it the first year I quit drinking as a gift to myself and had “To Thine Own Self Be True “ written on it when it was made .
  I’ve been sober for over 21 years now and I have traded that bow off as well.
   Made very well and shot very well .
  Great bows for sure .

I have 3.    An SR Swift,  and 2 B model 1 pieces. I prefer my B Models. But all 3 are sweet shooters.

I have a one piece long curve. It's a nice well made bow. I want to try the one piece b model.

I had a 65# 60 inch Kiowa about 28 years ago.Same as B-model.Lower price.It was my 1st traditional bow.Very good bow in my opinion.Killed an all blonde colored hog with it in Florida visiting my parents.

I did not notice it being hard to pull personally.Or that it seemed higher than marked.But I was young and strong.

Pointed easily and naturally.Plenty fast and smooth shooting.

Had a three piece that I traded.Bow was a shooter for sure fast quiet and seemed to like many different arrows. Have a b model Rio Bravo now.Same good performer nice big palm swell. You don't see them for sale often. Have never heard a bad thing about them or the new owners.
