Montana's application deadline is coming up May 1st. Any trad ganger planning on doing a sheep hunt this season?

Just put in my applications for moose/sheep/goat the other day. Now the dreaded wait. Sometimes I get scared that I might actually draw a tag, and then I remember the miniscule odds  :)
Is it September yet?!

rtherber

When does a person know the draw results in Montana? Is it as early as June?

AkDan

sure hoping so...not sure how this summer and guiding is going to lay out though and have a kodiak goat tag burning a hole in my pocket to boot.

Jack Shanks

Yup, just waiting to draw the tag in one of the states I applied in.

Not this year. 2010 Bighorn Canmore bowzone.
The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

I'm with Jack and hoping to get lucky.

I decided that tis was the year I draw my goat tag.  I don't know why, but I just woke up two days ago and knew that come the secong week of june, I'll be getting my tag in the mail.

sunny hill,

I hope to join a Alberta friend of mine on a Canmore hunt if and when he draws the tag.

Seems like hunting sheep and Mt goats is all I can think of anymore. Might be why I send thousands of dollars off to western states each year in hopes of acquiring a tag I have little to no chance of drawing. Almost like a gambling addiction. It may be worse because at least most gamblers have better odds.

I'll be hunting Mt goats in BC again this year. I probably could have been going on another sheep hunt if I would have taken a goat on one of my first two attempts. To me goats are the next best thing and a guided hunt for them is a little less expensive than a sheep hunt. Now add three of them togeter and I just don't know about that?

Didn't draw the tag I wanted so it will be otc if the old body says yes by august.

Well kicking around an OTC goat tag in AK this fall with my son-in-law so it may not be a total loss  ;)   If I can squeeze it in around all these elk and deer anyway   :D
