Shooting High From Trees

What is the reason I have been shooting high from from a tree stand this past fall. It's not like I haven't hunted from a tree before,  I have hunted for about 40 years  from trees.  Anyway I would appreciate any advise you guys can give me.

Shooting high from an elevated position is usually attributed to two reasons:

1)   Not bending and the waist to keep your torso and alignment correct.
2)   Not looking low enough on the critter.


Of course, if you've been hunting 40 years, you know all that.

One of you experts must have a tip for me...to cold in Northern Wi to climb a tree and work out my problem.

Google NFAA field archery and lookup aiming tips. It covers uphill and downhill shooting, perhaps not tree stand but it will give you the basics ie; bending at the waist and/or sliding your hips back.

40 years? The older I get the stiffer I get. That bending at the waist thing doesn't go as well as it used to.

Losing your Magic T by lowering your bow arm.  You must maintain proper alignment.  Canting the bow more also helps some people. But the 1st statement I made.... if you lower your bow arm, your site picture is off, so you shoot high.  See the 1st page of the Form Clock thread at the very top of this forum. Hope that helps.
