Crack in the back

A buddy asked if I could look at an old bow of his. It's a Ben Pearson Hawk, and I'm having trouble tracking down much info on it. The bow is 52" and 45@28.   The lower limb is twisted pretty bad, but the bigger issue is there is some cracking in the back just past the fades.
 As best I can tell this is not a fiberglass bow so here is my thinking and my question.   The bow as it is, is a wall hanger. He wants to shoot it.  Some of the twist can be taken out, but the crack is my main concern. Could I use a fiberglass cloth (like the kind used in canoe making) to to back the bow, and repair it? Would doing that just over power the belly at that point and cause more problems? Is the bow beyond saving completely?
  I'm leaning towards leaving it as a wall hanger, but I want to do my due dillagance.

Its a wall hanger . I would never trust it to shoot.
