It Happened
« on: April 13, 2021, 07:36:46 AM »
I tempted fait too much and the bow folded.
I really shouldn't have been shooting this bow, being so old, but I really did enjoy shooting it while I had it. A 1952 (I believe) Bear Polar
Broke as I drew back.

It's a shame; nice looking bow.  But nuthin's forever.

Definitely not a fun thing.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

It’s always sad to see these old bows give up the ghost, but I firmly believe that it’s better to see them in use than being neglected and collecting dust on a rack.

Ouch!  At 67, I'm starting to wonder when I'll be broken beyond repair more than when my longbows will be broken beyond repair.

They were meant, to be bent...  :archer2: Sometimes, they break...  :scared:

Better to have shot and lost, than to never have shot at all...
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

Yeah I'm of the same mindset of rather shoot and break than let it sit on a rack collecting dust.

No, no one hurt. Rather uneventful, just kind of had enough and gave up during the pull, not at full draw yet.

For what it's worth, the last bow I had break, a black glass / rosewood Super Diablo, I cut off the limb tips for key fobs. Seems fitting that my key to the range is on a bow tip.

That lower limb looks like my left knee before a TKR.

I'm praying that doesn't happen with any of my bows.  Closest was the horn tip cutting a FF string at full draw (66.2#)
