A dandy lion hunt with a trad bow
« on: April 03, 2021, 01:43:20 PM »
Last night I noticed that the dandelion's in my yard had started to bloom. I walked around my yard hunting them with my Predator Classic and Judo's. It was thrilling to watch the little blooms go poof as the Judo ran them through. I am happy to report that no lion inflicted injuries were sustained.  :bigsmyl:

Be very careful, if you just wound one and it feels cornered.......
I shudder to think about it.
Hope you have a good backup with you.
Happy hunting.

Those lions are plentiful at my place, but they make difficult targets.

I’ve been known to stalk a dandy Lion or talk myself. It’s really pretty fun.

Not managed a dandy lion hunt yet, very tempted to add that to my "to do" list.

Have been known to stalk cabbage moths with my longbow in a field of turnips, but not sure if I have the plums to chase them "lions" though, better take my 75lb longbow and 900 grain woodies hey :biglaugh:

Any suggestions on what to use for "back-up" :goldtooth:

Best
Lex
Good hunting to you all.

When you guys get really good at the garden variety lions, come out west to hunt Feral Cow Patties in the sand washes.
Seriously, a FINE way to spend a couple of hours, shooting, B.S.ing with your buddies, learning how far you can effectively shoot and testing hunting gear.

Koko, are your feral cow patties more elusive than our domesticated variety? I'm getting pretty good on our  home grown variety.

Sam;
I don't think that they're more elusive but they are without a doubt devious things. A fresh patty will lay in the sun and camouflage itself to look like an aged patty.  You can miss an actual aged patty but the fresh ones are arrow magnets................... and of course, while you're cleaning your arrow is when the jackrabbit hops out from behind a bush, gives you 'the look' and runs off.
Good times !!!
