Illinois bow transport....cased?

For some reason this is difficult for me to find in the regs...do you still have to have your bow cased, unstrung, or otherwise "inoperable" while in a vehicle in Illinois?  I know you used to....not sure now.

Ryan I think with the advent of that mechanical arrow launching device a lot of the old laws faded away. Now there are cross guns and mechanical broadheads (barbed heads)  added to the mix and even more laws have faded away.

Ok, thanks for the info. Likely will be hunting over there some this fall and I'll need to whip up something easy to use for a strung bow with quiver on it to be compliant, but easy to use.

Newfoundland was the same way when we went.  What stunk is I had a two piece longbow and I had to break it down the fit in the lockable case.  Ridiculous.

Yes,  a stick bow that is unstrung, is considered inoperable.  Placing a zip tie or padlock on a compound/crossbow also makes it inoperable.  Having a bow strung/unstrung with in a case is considered inoperable for transportation purposes.

Black Widow has a nice zippered and padded case to transport strung bows with a bow
quiver attached full of arrows.
