Are you looking for Water stones, Diamond stones, or Arkansas stones?

I lie. Dm xtra course and course diamonds. They are a great investment and get your heads beveled quick. I also use a fine DMT and 3 different Arkansas stones to polish once the bevels are set. It’s an investment but if you sharpen a lot of heads it makes a difference.

Thanks for the reply ! I'm just looking for a honing one right now I guess? One to keep heads sharp or take a semi sharp head to pretty damn sharp

For what you said, I would get a medium and fine diamond stone.

I am certainly no whiz kid when it comes to sharpening, but I've been doing it for about 60 years. Water stones, diamond stones, and Arkansas stones all work just fine. It is a matter of preference. However, the development of a refined technique is important. A lot of folks have stressed the need to regularly touch up the edge once it is sharp. None of this is magic, but until you develop a knack for it, you will just have to keep working on it.
