They got to be air tight. If you use the silicone gasket maker you need to protect one surface with plastic or it is like glue. Be a b--yth to get apart and you will be redoing it every time you empty the bin.

Gasket foam ? I have access to what is used sealing a rooftop unit to the curb/ hole in roof. 1/2" thick

I got a package today, sticky foam gasket---THANKS goobersan
Started off bad, Had to get out the heat gun and warm up the peel and stick cover, worked good
Had to bend the clamp ring a little
Took a shot to get the old glue off the Dust Deputy
