Actually I just saw some last week, along with a bunch of other assorted flooring down at our local Habitat for Humanity. You guys need to check alternative resources. C-list for materials, building recycle stores, etc.

I’ve ordered it and had it shipped. Basically I called and discussed how I wanted it ripped and packaged and shipped to maximize product shipped vs cost. So if I remember correctly they sent like strips cut out of sheets and so the packaging was good. Heck I am still going through it.

That was a good score I need to go back when they open the retail shop this week and see if it's vertical. Although I don't know why it would matter if it was manufactured vertical or horizontal, it's a bunch of little strips and a lot of glue lines either way.

Flem you want the vertical not the horizontal, vertical is full uncut strips glued together the horizontal is alot of little pieces glued together, I know from my experience that the horizontal will not hold up, maybe for a short time but I would not trust it.

My whole meaning for this Topic was.
Picking it up at your Local Lowes or Home Depot with NO shipping cost for a 60# box.
I could get 2 to 3 bows out of each board. good stuff

Shipping can be a deal killer for sure. That flooring was popular for time. I wonder if the big stores don't stock it any longer because the popularity wore off? Or maybe they are waiting for the Bamboo forests to catch up with demand

The horizontal I saw had filler wood under the top layer of boo, not any good

I think the picture might be a little misleading depending on the manufacturer, the finished face may show the horizontal pieces glued jointed the  whole vertical way only, but underneath it is glue jointed horizontally also throughout, this I found out by looking at the unfinished back side of the board, or if you cut the top layer off you can see how the inside is jointed vertical and horizontal, how ever the finished top layer if not jointed horizontally can be used if thick enough. I think the vertical is still better for strength and performance.

I may add that the vertical bamboo Flooring I have is solid unjointed edged grain strips the full length or the board, that's not to say all manufacture's do it that way. Of course any joints in the lam horizontally will make a good breaking point.
