I had an accident

Guys,
I had an accident stringing my Tall Tines Recurve. The string slipped off the bottom limb tip as soon as I got it strung. I don't see or feel any issues with the limbs. Do you think it's safe to shoot? BTW, it was entirely my fault; I just wasn't paying attention.

Probably will be okay; check the alignment of the recurved limbs the next few times you shoot by putting each end on the floor and sighting down the string to make sure there is no limb twist. I’ve wondered about this myself, because the bottom nock is covered by the stringer, and it wouldn’t be obvious if the string loop came out of one of the string nocks.

What McDave said. Might draw and relax the bow slowly a few times, noticing how the string returns to the string grooves in the limbs.

I did that once on a Zipper Nitro. It was ok. I usually do the push pull with the tip in my boot, but not with the recurves. I always pull real hard on the bottom even though I can't see it to make sure it hasn't come out,and then proceed to string it.

I was using a stringer, but the string must have slipped out of one side of the nock when I pushed the stringer cup/pouch over the bottom limb tip. It was a scary feeling when the string came off!

I've had it happen with no negative, long term affects.

I find a limb tip protector tends to keep the string where it is supposed to be. Works for me.

Thunderhorn superstringer is great at keeping the string in the nocks with its constricting action as tension is applied. One of the reasons I use one all my bows
