Michigan early season bowfishing

On the way home from work on friday I stoped to look at a creek near my house and found it to be full of suckers. I normaly don't start bow fishing untill the carp start spawning but a quick check of the fishing rules confirmed that it was leagal to shoot the suckers. I headed over to my dads house and we grabed our bow fishing rigs and waders and headed back out to the creek. We shot fish for a hour or so and ended up busting the tips off of our arrows on rocks but ended up with 8 fish. Saturday we went back out and got 17 fish, and sunday after church we went back with my brother inlaw and managed to shoot 29 suckers. Here's a few pictures.

Great shooting JT. What part of the state you from? I am keeping an eye on my carp shooting hot spots and hoping to get some shooting in before my turkey season starts on May 12th.

Nice shooting and great pics. We are only allowed to shoot carp in NY, that is a shame because there are suckers all over the place.

I would like to have a vote: Who is better looking, the fish or the "goofballs" with the bows???
My vote is for the fish!!!
Great pix JT!!!

Thanks for sharing.
That reminds me I have a spot on my way home from work that I should be checking.
