No more training wheels for this guy
« on: July 22, 2021, 10:41:55 PM »
This guy I work with finally decided to try a longbow so I loaned him a RD 3 piece takedown.
I gave him a few pointers and off he went home with the bow and some arrows.
He has had the bow for about a week and he sent me this picture of his best group so far.
He was shooting from 15 yards and I told him that wasn't too bad for just starting out.
Then he asked me if I would consider selling that bow.  :saywhat:
Sure, why not.
It's fun to see a new convert.  :archer:

The second and third dominos have fell :biglaugh:
He bought the bow and now is going to order a shooting glove from American Leathers.
And he is wanting to order some custom wood arrows.
I think I got that hook set Deep.  :archer:

One of our buddies has recently come over from the darkside (shooting one of those trigger bows). He ordered a Trad bow about three weeks ago and got his son (maybe 12 years old?) a recurve too. Just learned yesterday they have both put in deposits for Thunderchilds. There’s no turning back now! :archer2:

Good job of hooking him, Pine! Don't think you're gonna need a net for this one!

I have a customer at work who is a big wheel bow guy. I invited him out to shoot a recurve. He handled a 40 pound Grizzly well and had fun shooting. Next thing I know, he has bought a longbow and wants to hunt with it this season so yah, it's nice to see a compound shooter at least include a traditional bow into his interests.

Seen many that switched ,but after few years or if they missed a deer especially so a "Big One" they went back to the other side of the fence. Just the way it is for the most part. Nothing to get hung up about, just been my experience. But good luck to those few who stay with it.

He was talking with me today and I mentioned Elm Hall to him.
His eyes lit up when I told him there could be venders there.  :bigsmyl:
