190-200 grain broadhead options
«

I'm building an arrow/bow setup around the plan to eventually try some Simmons treesharks in 190 grains, but I don't want to throw more expensive heads at turkeys or other medium game. Any options for budget 190-200 grain screw-in heads? I was thinking of grizzlies but the narrow cut diameter doesn't make much sense on turkeys and medium game since penetration isn't going to be an issue with a 50# bow.

Tusker broadheads come in those weights and are relatively cheap.

The tuskers are tempting prices, probably gonna snatch a few up for $20 a pack.

I ordered some Tuskers a few weeks back, and got word they were out of stock. They said they don't know when they'll be available.

There's probably no better arrow to toss at a turkey than a Simmons that doesn't cost more. Turkeys are tough as hell and Simmons really aren't that expensive!

Have consistently harvested gobs for a decade with the Tree shark. Would be extremely confident utilizing the Timber Shark.

Outback Broadheads in Australia has a couple of 200gn screw-in options and you'll probably find the price very good after you look at the exchange rate. I get them for $50AUD/6 pack, so for the American customers you'd be looking at $38/6 pack. Of course you'd have to pay some postage but if you got a couple of packets it might turn into a nice option.

3Rivers sells a 75 grain steel adaptor that you could use with a 130 grain Delta.
It is hard to beat the Deltas in general

I have a lot of broadheads in the 125 grain range, including many Zwickeys. When I decided to bump up to 200 grains I bought steel adapters. They weigh in at 75 grains. Lots of choices to make up a 200 grain point.
