Heavy inserts
« on: October 08, 2021, 10:25:21 AM »
Anyone know of a source for heavy inserts for carbons (.246)? Looking for inserts that come in at 125gr.

Figuring out a new arrow setup since the CX heritage arrows are no more.

Got a setup that works on paper (dynamic spine calculator) but need 125 gr inserts.

Not looking to increase point weight….I got piles of points, broadheads, etc that I want keep using. Could increase arrow length to avoid the issue of trying to find 125gr inserts but I want to keep the same sight picture.

Don’t need other suggestions….just sources for heavy inserts.

Inserts or adaptors?  Haven't seen any inserts above 100 grains, but they may be out there.  Have seen steel adaptors to 125 grains.

You could always get gold tip 100gr inserts some 25gr screw in weights. Screw the weight into the back of the insert and install into the shaft.

Was looking at switching over to Black Eagles…good reviews from what I’ve seen and a friend has some he swears by.

Might do the 100gr with a 25gr screw on…looks like it will be a lot cheaper than the elite archery 125s.

A 100 grain brass inserts are readily available and add a piece of 8/32 screw glued to the back end of insert.

3 Rivers, Big Jim Bows, Amazon, etc. have 100 grain inserts.

Was hoping for more than one company out there to offer a 125 gr one piece insert. Ethics archery seems to be the only one ….and man are they pricey $44 for for 12 inserts.

The big online store that starts with “a” sells some up to 300 grains. They are foreign made.

So….a gamble …and still pricey compared to 100 gr brass inserts.

Seems to be a gap in the market someone should come in to fill.
