Sorry to hear that. It’s a problem with tropical woods mostly, although some of our woods can bother you as well, especially now that you have become sensitized. About three years ago, I first noticed that pau ferro was making me itch. More recently, I have been affected by sawdust to the point where I had to buy a powered air helmet. It was that or pretty much quit woodworking.
After a lifetime of working with wood, I thought that I was pretty much bullet proof in that respect.
Along with the respirator, you might want to start wearing long sleeves and taking care to clean up as soon as you’re done each day. It’s a problem that doesn’t go away once it starts. Part of the wonderful experience of getting old, I guess. It goes hand in hand with arthritis and back aches. ☹️
I’ve been thinking about buying a shop air cleaner to get the fine dust out of the air as well.
