Nock Location Help???
« on: May 02, 2008, 11:57:00 PM »
:help:  Been out to the barn a while tonight shooting a few of my bow.
I am having difficultiy getting the nocking height set, as I have been bare shafting 3 diff bows. I have pulled my hair out on a Bear A wood with #1 50# limbs. I will get close but I continually have the shaft entering nock up. I feel like I have walked from all nut 0 to 1/2" above on the nock.
Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I got the B wood and a Tomahawk shooting very nice (bareshafting) both about the same weight.....HELP...Dave    :help:

Try 5/8".
If it's in your way, move it.

when doing bareshaft you nock will be lower then if you have fletchings on the shaft....

also do you  shot 3under or split finger.

Ken Beck told me to try a nock above and one below.  I had been using a single nocking point at 7/8's.  On one of my bows I move it to 3/8's above and one below - PRESTO!!!

Didn't try it with one of my other main bows yet.

I am shooting split finger, been shooting into hay bails, using a single nock at .375 this setting has always been where I end up on my recurves, I will mess with it a bit again later today...
