Backwoods Coffee - All brews went over well. The two new roasts were the first to actually challenge High Noon. As all ways, the attendees loved having them all each morning. However week two really solidified week 1s findings. The 2 new brews continued to get lots of attention, more so than any other brews over the years. High Noon is still overall #1, but Lost Break and Wren and Ivey are tied for 2nd. And I agree.

While Backwoods was ruling the morning, Shifty's ruled the rest of the day. All 3 were used every day Classic, Red, and Garlic Salt. Ribs, Javies, Ham, sausage, potatoes, sandwiches, and more. These guys REALLY liked it on Invasion 1. And then Invasion 2 came around and all 3 were used on javie, steaks, pork and more pork, eggs, in Pete's Super Beans that had been de-gassed
, enchiladas, geezz I forget what all.... EVEYONE loved it an Shifty sent enough for ALL the hunters to get the trifecta to take home..... Classic, Red, and Garlic Salt.
American Leathers Big Shot gloves were admired and used in camp shooting targets. None were really used hunting, understandingly, as guys didn't want to change anything just before a hunt. Also, some were shooting their own Big Shot gloves, and more were shooting their own during Invasion 2.
Abowyer broadheads drew a lot of attention, and two models were taken out to hunt. Joe took a couple of White Tails home the 1st Invasion to set up for Invasion 2. All were very impressed with the precision edge put on by Sponsor KME. Joe took them out to hunt as he got them tuned to his bow.
The Dark Timber shafts were shot in camp, and both were taken to the field, and a Javie was shot with one. after two rounds of hunts they seem to be very durable, but I'd expect nothing else from Big Jim.
Trad Only shafts both were shot in camp, and both were taken to the field again on Invasion 2. And I shot 2 javies with them last year.
The Centaur heads were admired by everyone, but neither were shot, probably due to being glue ones and no hot glue for those who wanted to try them out. I used a Battle Axe last year to cut one of my Javies in half. Ken really wanted to hunt with one but was too busy hunting eating and sleeping he never mounted it on one of his arrows.
Everyone that used bow quivers were impressed by Don's new quiver design. And someone took it to the field. Ah, and his hog light was also taken to the field. His hog light bow set up was also drawing a lot of attention. It now comes ready to hunt with a green light.
VPA 3 Blades were responsible for a large majority of the kills week one. Most of these kills had very short recoveries on BOTH hunts. Others tried the one sent that were different weights than what they were using, and they were also taken to the field.
The Asbel Zip Up was put on a pedestal as far as construction and the quality of the wool used. And, the color/patter REALLY drew attention. It was also taken to the field and deceived a few Javies. And I killed my javie wearing it.
And as always, there's always Zwickeys in camp. This year, we had all 4 blade models available to use. I blew through both shoulders with the Delta 4 blade.
