HAVE ANY OF YOU ARRA MAKIN JEDI TRIED THE MINWAX POLYSHADES ? IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A STAIN AND POLYURITHANE IN ONE.  I WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS AS GOOD AS STAINING THEN POLYING AFTER THE STAIN HAS DRIED.
TRYING TO SAVE THE DAY OF STAIN DRYING TIME.

If you are wanting to save drying time, I have found that powdered ritz die mixed with denatured alcohol dries almost instantly. And you can mix and match colors to get any color you desire.

I haven't used it on arrows but I have on furniture, and I really did not like it that much. The stain seemed to be suspended in the poly, rather than in the wood, if you see what I mean. It might not make a difference on a small surface like a shaft but on a big flat surface it looked substandard. Try it on an old wood dowel  and see what you think.

Try using a coat or two of clear poly before applying the polyshades. Doing it like that will let the polyshade mixture lay out. I've not used the polyshades but I bet it's the same procedure as the stain/varnish mixture.-ART B

I use it all the time.  I like it 'cuz it doesn't seem to gel up on you like regular poly can if you let it sit for awhile.

It doesn't usually give you much color, I actually use an oil based stain first, then the Polyshades.
