Question for those who've shot border covert hunters...

Is it just me, or do the limbs curve unevenly? Feels like the bottom limb is curving first, and then the top. Not sure if this is intended?

If you put a lot of heel down pressure you can force the limbs out of timing.
They cover proper grip in a section on the CH on the web site
