Does anyone have a good method for adding weight to judos? I shoot a lot of 160-200 grain heads on my wood arrows and need something. I put some shot in a couple, but I only have #6 shot so I could only get 3 in there and it isn’t enough.

I have had the same problem. I have wrapped rubber bands behind the judo, but that was not a very impressive solution. For compatibility with my 175gr setup, I use a Judo Kondor (the big judo)... and then I take a full-size rubber blunt (the black one that slides on), drill a hole in the business end, cut it down with a sharp knife until it makes weight, and slide it on backwards behind the Judo. May sound a little grotesque... but it works and I've been using them this way for a long time.

Glue on judos with steel inserts 50 and 75 grains, problem solved.

I shoot 145 grains so it’s not much trouble to get them up to 145. Get some tungsten shot (turkey loads). They are tiny #9s but heavy you could easily get to 160 as the judo ferrule will hold a bunch. Now 200 you’d have to drill a hole in the wood arrow taper and add weight there also but doable.

I use #8 lead shot. Cut a dove shell. I cook it till liquid before setting.

I just did several like this. I've got a jig where I drill the end of the wood shaft and insert a section of nail for the extra weight. I can get up to about 70 grains extra pretty easy and it doesn't seem to affect spine like weight on the end does.

I use the Ace hex blunts more than I do Judos, I can get them in more weights, and I use steel inserts to get them really heavy.

They behave like Judos, they don't burrow into the forest duff like a field point or regular blunt.

I like the Ace hex blunts too. I have quite a few. I do have trouble with them burying under grass and leaves more often than I thought I would so I mostly shoot the judos for roving.
