GatorDon loved your article in this issue of TBM..well done. Also enjoyed reading E. Don Thomas article about recent hunt with you in Fl. You must be feeding E.Don and Lori well for them to come back and fight the skeeters!!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. The deer hunt at DonT's was a wonderful experience and my first hunt in snow. The buck was just the icing. After the 04 and 05 hurricanes I really needed to get out of Florida for a bit.And I will never forget the view from the stand at Dick's. To have shot a deer then might have actually lessened the experience.

Don and Lori's last trip here in Feb involved a little good eatin. Panko snook and snapper, gator cakes(like crab),and a fabulous slow roasted mojo wild hog roast that a friend brought. Just a little "taste of Florida"

Skeets? We don't have skeets down here  ;)

By the way Joey and Curt, job well done with your articles in the April/May TBM. Let's see, Joey guides me to a trophy gobbler, Curt mounts it in world class championship form....Hmmm sounds like a hunt coming together.

Yep, a thoroughly enjoyable read, Don, and I can imagine that you must've thought your throat was cut in such cold! The Territory is a bit like Florida, in that if you're not soaking your shirt with sweat on a hunt, you're probably about to perish from dehydration! Anyway, now that I've read about that snowy whitetail of yours, I'll go and read the alligator yarn.

Thanks Ben,

When I first glanced at your article's cover pic I thought it was another piece on Florida. Except upon reading it I realized that the "swine" are larger and I certainly would not attempt what DonT and I did on the gators with one of your crocs. I must say you Aussies write pretty good-I can barely detect the accent  :biglaugh:

Joey,I drive by Magnolia every day- still good- And I see birds pretty much every day there as well. We are south of there, near Kenansville. Hard to believe there's a 400,000 acre ranch next to Orlando International.

Panko ducks, sounds like a waste of good panko!

Yeah, Don, whenever I phone one of the fine bowyers in the USA, I get a bit nervous, thinking, "Sheesh, I hope he can understand what I'm saying!" Sometimes I have to repeat something, and vise-versa...the printed word is good - it has precisely five-eighths of bugger-all accent!

I'm not too keen on crocs myself, and we're getting too many of 'em. Wildlife mismanagement, here...

Funny thing Ben, when I read you Aussie boy's stuff , my mind puts the accent on it. Then
I have to re-read it as if my translator is speaking, LOL

Finally got around to reading the new issue.  Great article, Don.  I enjoyed the stories by Jay and Don T. that you were a part of as well.  They are going to have to list you as Southern Activity Director/Location Manager/Chef/and Party Responsible for Other Duties as Assigned.  It is the last part that should scare you.

Thanks Gregg. My MT hunt was a remarkable experience.

I think Jay and DonT took a little literary license with the extent of my involvement and expertise. I simply provided the permits and property access.
