Founders of ETAR and Cancer Update/Awareness
« on: July 15, 2022, 03:20:00 PM »
I hope this is ok to post here. We just made a post on facebook as well.
https://www.facebook.com/ETARPA

Meet the two people who started it all! Mike & Joyce Knefley started ETAR 33 years ago and though many things have changed over the years, their love for the sport and the community has never wavered.
If you've had the chance to meet either of these two, I'm sure you have some stories to share below!
P.S. some of you may know that Joyce has been battling Ovarian Cancer for awhile now. She told us that she refuses to let the cancer win & has been kicking our butts in daily step challenges!
The color teal is used to raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer and to support the 22,000+ people who are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer each year.
If you would like to wear a teal ribbon, shirt, hat, or pin to ETAR in support of Joyce, that would mean the world to us!
Don't forget to keep her in your prayers too. ❤️

My 44 year old niece was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer this spring, she has undergone radiation and chemo, we are praying for her recovery and all others suffering from this disease. Kick butt Joyce and know unfortunately you are not alone. Prayers up for you.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and kind words. Tom, prayers for your niece as well. My mom and dad were both in tears seeing all the replies on facebook, and she answered each one personally. They don't usually get on this forum but I'm relaying all your good wishes. FYI, we are making buttons for people to wear if they want (no charge) and someone else volunteered to make ribbons to also hand out. So if you don't have a teal shirt these are some options!  :archer: :archer: :archer: See you there!
