Easy Tab Build

I like to make some of my own gear. I came across an old utility belt I had no real use for. As I looked at the heavy nylon weave of the belt I got an idea. Using an old tab as a pattern I traced out and cut the tab shape from a piece of the belt. I heated a bolt to melt the holes in it and to melt the edges a bit. I think I have a winner! Tough and the string slips off it nice!

Nice job!Its tough and slick so must make for a nice release and longlasting as well.
Send me one in split finger.

It looks to me like you could make a strike plate out of the same nylon. It would no doubt be silent, and probably less friction than a piece of leather. At times I want a strike plate that's a little thicker or thinner or softer or firmer than whatever I’m already using, in order to micro-tune a bow, and that would be a useful alternative to consider.

I made one a few weeks ago with seatbelt webbing which is more slippery. Works great but started to fray on the bottom finger. Might just be me not heat sealing the edge well enough.
